Gucci’s Spring/Summer 2013 Ad Campaign and SS13 Bags!

My oh my, what a treat Gucci has given us for Spring/Summer 2013 in the form of their latest Women’s Ad Campaign. Shot by fab fashion photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the campaign stars supermodels Anja Rubik and Karmen Pedaru.

Once you finish ogling at the models, here are the bags from Gucci’s SS13 collection.

Gucci has introduced the Karung print for its existing line of iconic handbags such as the New Jackie, New Bamboo and Soft Stirrup. Yep, you read that right. It’s just a Karung print on soft lambskin, and not actually the Karung skins. This simply means, leather that’s made to look like exotic skin. What’s great about this is the price point would be much lower, so that’s good news for all of us now, isn’t it? ;D

Next up, Gucci celebrates its 60th Anniversary this year and pays tribute to its Equestrian heritage by re-introducing the horsebit, one of its key details since 1953 through the new “Bright Bit” collection. The bags and SLGs are available in eye-popping candy coloured patent leather such as Begonia Pink, Citrus Yellow, Jasmine Green, and Deep Sapphire. I’ve got my eye on the clutches because they seem super fun!

For the Spring/Summer 2013 evening collection, Gucci presents the Aristographic clutch. Seriously, my jaws literally dropped when I laid eyes on these beauties! Inspired by the colours of gemstones, the patterns on these clutches were carved and cut using technology often used in fine jewellery-making! Although they’re made of thick plexiglas and transparent so everyone would know what you have in your bag, and I’m sure, at this point, you’re also probably wondering whether they’d look as pretty with your belongings in them than they do right now, but who cares, because they’re just so delicate and a work of art in themselves! Kudos to Giannini for this one!
