Burberry’s Autumn/Winter 2020 Pre-Collection Campaign

Shot by Danko SteinerBurberry‘s Autumn/Winter 2020 Pre-Collection Campaign stars models Irina Shayk and Reece Nelson. An exploration of the concept of duality, the campaign showcases the collection in shots featuring another model of similar stature, build, and physique  almost a splitting image of the models themselves, yet whose faces are only partially revealed.

I have always been drawn to the notion of duality and viewing things from two perspectives – bringing a depth and contrast to a person or a concept. This campaign explores this idea of mirroring, a theme which I established as a house code in the new Burberry identity. ~ Riccardo Tisci, Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer ~

The models are dressed in the House’s AW20 Pre-Collection, such as the signature house check overlaid with camouflage, and quilting in vibrant colours. The TB monogram is also reimagined in several shades of brown  thus in line with the season’s more muted colour palette in hues such as white, black, beige, grey, and red, but with a refreshing pop of blush pink. For women, outerwear, particularly the trench coats have been transformed in fluid jersey, fringing and graffiti, while workwear comes in the form of quilted skirt suits, fringed wool trousers and reconstructed blazers. And, for that touch of drama and feminine flair, a scarf dress, and silk pussy-bow blouses and shirts with exaggerated cuffs. The TB bag is once again front and centre , alongside the Lola bag, which now comes in small an supersized styles in quilted leather, and the new signature, the latest Pocket Bag.

Men’s outerwear feature reconstructed cotton-gabardine trench coats and classic English-fit suits with logo and house stripes embroidery, and for that utilitarian vibe, wide-leg shorts with cargo pockets are the highlights for the season. Accessories-wise, a duffle bag in Monogram-print e-canvas, a slim briefcase in logged leather, and a sustainable chequer-print ECONYL® backpack, a type of regenerated nylon made from recycled oceanic waste.
