Burberry’s 2019 Festive Campaign

Riccardo Tisci celebrates love for his first festive campaign for Burberry. Entitled “What Is Love?”, the campaign, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, stars Carla Bruini, Fran Summers, brand ambassadors Zhou Dongyu and Yoo Ah-in, Shay, Ikram Abdi Omar, Lea T, Boychild, Wu Tsang, Cecilia Chancellor, Sasha Pivovarova, Marina Morena, Mahmoud and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The campaign showcases women’s eveningwear, particularly the hand-linked embellished chainmail dresses with crystal fringing and feather details. And in the spirit of the Holiday Season, there’s also lots of sequins and tuxedos for men. Bags of the season include the TB family, particularly the TB bag, and the Lola bag in a new iteration of red sequin embroidery in the brand-new mini size, wool-blend tweed, and the Title bag in a new double handle style with quilting.

I am connected to the idea of unity, togetherness and challenging the perception of what love is today. This for me is the real spirit of the season. It’s one of my favourite times of the year – when I can stop, reflect and reconnect with those who make me feel happy and at home, no matter where I am in the world. I loved the idea of bringing together a group of people that have been so supportive of me since I joined Burberry to celebrate my first holiday campaign for the house ~Riccardo Tisci, Chief Creative Officer~
