Bottega Veneta’s Spring/Summer 2013 Ad Campaign
For Bottega Veneta’s Spring/Summer 2013 Ad Campaign, the brand has collaborated with internationally renowned photographer and filmmaker, Peter Lindbergh, who began his career working for Vogue Italia in the late-1970s, as Part of Bottega’s ongoing Art of Collaboration series featuring talents from various fields. This SS13 campaign was shot on location in Universal Studios, Los Angeles in October last year, and stars Freja Beha Erichsen.
According to Bottega Veneta’s Creative Director Tomas Maier, Lindbergh was a natural choice because “there are few photographers who can convey the range of emotion and personality that Peter can … We’re both interested in escaping the clichés of fashion imagery. Peter was able to strip things down to their essence, creating beautiful images that express exactly what is most important.”
And since we’re on the topic of SS13 (and yes, I’m aware that I’ve done the Runway review for the collection) but here are closeups of bags from the collection
Since last season, the butterfly is quickly becoming associated with Bottega Veneta. And for SS13, the iconic Cabat and Knot clutch get adorned with cutout appliqué butterflies, which are made of snakeskin.
The bag with fringe details, which I’m not such a big fan of…
Lastly, but certainly not the least, my absolute faves from Bottega Veneta’s SS13 collection. Loving the part-briefcase part-satchel but ever so luxe look of this bag!
And the showstopper, the Mother of all knot clutches ( well, okay, not a knot clutch, but the shape totally seems like the shell of the knot, don’t you think?) this stain glass-esque patterned cage clutch. Too cool and ornamental, and if I had this, I’d find it too precious to be used! Love!
That said, that satchel-like bag is still my favourite! In exotic skins (lizard or croc) so it will definitely cost a bomb. Which is YOUR favourite?
