Behind-The Scenes: Gucci’s Bamboo Confidential Video

Last week, Gucci debuted their latest short film, “Bamboo Confidential” , which marked the beginning of their global campaign in celebration of the iconic Bamboo collection. The video and campaign features their latest Fall 2013 pieces from the Bamboo collection: The Bamboo Shopper and Lady Lock. Shot at London’s Savoy Hotel, this location is significant to the Gucci family history as this is where founder Guccio Gucci actually worked in the 1900s (as a lift boy).

The 30-second version, the Director’s Cut of the Bamboo Confidential film (shown below) will appear in various expandable banner ads as part of this global digital campaign.

Here are some behind-the-scenes shots during filming of the short film:

Gucci’s social media networks are dedicating 2 whole weeks to the Bamboo, and going back to the craftsmanship of the bags. The highlight of this campaign is the Instagram initiative, which is a collaboration with 40 influential bloggers from 19 countries (and I’m one of them! :D) . For this campaign, we were told to interpret the Bamboo Confidential narrative by snapping images of the Bamboo bags in an elevator.

Stay tuned for the full story behind my collaboration with Gucci which will be up next week! I’d be posting all the shots I photographed for this Gucci campaign, and some behind-the-scenes images with a detailed blog post!

Special thanks to Gucci for picking me to represent Malaysia in this global campaign!
