Well, guess what? Creative Director Demna Gvasalia actually looked to actual French paparazzi to shoot these images! In the campaign, you’d see models escorted by bodyguards, and using their Balenciaga handbags to dodge the paparazzi from photographing them. The result? Not only would this be a memorable campaign, but the Spring/Summer 18 bags end up front and centre in each shot … and we all know that leather goods are the main drivers in terms of profit for luxury brands, as opposed to ready-to-wear.  What a brilliant marketing strategy on Gvasalia’s part for creating an impactful impression in the consumers’ minds. Balenciaga may be getting weirder and weirder in terms of its design, but kudos to him for the campaign!
