Hermes Spring/Summer 2012 Press Preview

On Thursday morning, I headed down to the Hermès flagship at Pavilion KL for the Spring/Summer 2012 Press preview. This is the first (and perhaps only) time that Hermès has done a SS12 fashion show for press. So why the sudden urge to do an in-store runway presentation? Well, that’s because Hermès wanted to introduce the work of their new Creative Director Christophe Lemaire, who has taken over Jean Paul Gaultier’s position at the helm of the Maison.

The 2nd level of the Hermès store was all decked up with Philip Starck chairs throughout the store, ensuring that all members of the media had a front row seat. I sat close to where the models emerged which gave me a good angle for photos (though some are blurry due to the light from the windows!)

A “point of view” Shot taken from my seat, so you can imagine where I was sitting!

The show kicked off after a brief introduction on Christophe Lemaire.

Introduction before the presentation began

The show kicks off. Sorry but no bags, but I was salivating over the CDCs on models, and the shoes are amazing!

Behold the swimwear!!

And we’re done! Stills from the final walkthrough..

Here’s the video of the final walkthrough!

It was indeed an intimate affair, akin to the salon presentations held at Fashion Week! My favourites are the swimwear and the scarf print shift dresses! Which are YOUR faves?
