Gucci’s Artisan Corner in KL – Live Demonstration of the Bags Made By the Craftsmen!
Gucci brings their artisans from Florence to commemorate the newly opened boutique at The Gardens Mall! Get a glimpse of how these experience Gucci craftsmen assemble the bags from the Bamboo collection – the New Bamboo, the Hip Bamboo and the Bamboo shopper – before your very eyes!
The Artisan Corner display includes work tables, a sewing machine, a leather stand, and metal tools, as well as illustration and sketches to show you the evolution of the bags. The craftsmen will also demonstrate the stages of bamboo processing, from the selection of leathers and skins, right up to the final touches such as attaching the hardware onto the bags.
Artisan Corner will be open to the public from February 28th to March 4th at Gucci Gardens Mall, and then at the Pavilion KL store from March 6th to 9th.
Originally created in 1947, the Bamboo bag was reintroduced in 2010 as the New Bamboo. Crafted in the exact same way as the original, there are 130 separate pieces that are needed to put the bag together, and it takes 2 days to complete.
