Event Post: Furla Autumn/Winter 2014 Press Day

Furla gave us press peeps a preview of their Autumn/Winter 2014 collection at their Press Day at the Pavilion boutique last Thursday.

The AW14 collection introduced various new shapes, but all of them had one thing in common: the colour palette featuring greys, blacks, and nudes with pops of animal prints and a spot of red.

The Autumn/Winter 2014 season sees the introduction of several new shapes. One of them is the “Alice” envelope-like top handle bag (as shown above and below) dubbed as the iconic bag for the season.

Also a new silhouette for the season, the “Twiggy” range takes inspiration from the diagonal partitions from the older Furla bags of the past that were still in stores up to 3-4 years ago, which the brand has turned this idea into a diagonally designed zipper. A genius idea, where the beauty lies in the details. Available in 2 styles – the bauletto and the hobo – the hobo version is my fave out of Furla’s AW14 collection.

The one in the middle right there, the jaguar printed pony hair Twiggy hobo stole my heart!

The maxi clutches come with a  metal band on which the wrist strap is attached to. And yes, I’m loving the jaguar printed pony one again! Yes, I’m coming out of the animal print closet right now in this very post (Who said animal prints is a matured look? I disagree)! I especially love the pony hair variety in comparison to calf hair, because pony looks glossier!

Once again it’s all in the details because if you look at the frontal view it appears like any rectangular-shaped clutch, but turn it upside down and you’ll see that it’s also a diagonal triangular shaped clutch! 😉 I just love little surprises like that, don’t you?

For the first time ever, Furla also has floral printed calf-leather on their candy bags! The floral prints takes its inspiration from Japan-based Dutch florist Nicola Bergman.

While these aren’t from the Autumn/Winter collection, here’s something which I really liked – miniature Candy-bag USB drives that come on a key fob.  Cute aren’t they?

Thanks to Furla for having me at your Press Day!
