It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of all things graphic and artsy fartsy. And that’s why, when I saw this come down Prada‘s Fall/Winter 19 runway, I was stoked. In fact, I couldn’t wait for the FW19 season to arrive, just so I could get a closer look at this beauty.

If you’re wondering why Prada suddenly decided to come up with graphic illustrations such as this, it certainly isn’t the first time Prada is incorporating illustrations into the collections … remember the most recent one with the comic strip pin up girls? As for this FW19 collection, it derives inspiration from Frankenstein. I’m also currently crushing on the dress with Frankenstein and his bride, but that’s a different story. This heart print tote right here is of a heart spliced right down the middle but secured back together with a bolt, reminiscent of the bolt then went through Frankenstein’s head.

When I first saw the tote on the runway, I knew it was going to be a flat nylon tote, but I didn’t know that so much detail had gone into the creation of this seemingly small (measuring 9 x 8.5 inches) yet simple bag –there’s a zip-top closure, adjustable leather handles, as well as a detachable chain so that you have the option of wearing it crossbody if you’d like, as well as Prada’s triangular logo plaque at the back. SO much love for this pretty little thing right here. At €549, that’s a really decent price for a runway piece, don’t you think?
