Paris Fashion Week: Balenciaga’s Fall/Winter 2014 Bags
So a couple of seasons ago, totes were crushed in the palm with the handles being threaded through our arms. And now, this season, Alexander Wang sent models down the Balenciaga runway, with 2 bags in tow – a smaller tote atop a larger, document-sized tote. Hm, does this mean that we’d all be traipsing around everywhere with 2 bags in tow?
The Verdict: Well, I really have nothing much to say about Wang’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection for Balenciaga. I mean, the bags are rather simple, and though it’s in luxe exotic leathers, it doesn’t take away the fact that the construction of those bags remind me of paper bags that we get from a store when we purchase something. Oh and those twisted steel cable-like handles ala Phillipe Charriol watches seem like they’d hurt if you wrap your fingers around the handles for too long. And they’d probably hurt even more when the contents of your bag are weighing it down… And unless I’m carrying my store purchases, I wouldn’t be carrying 2 bags in this manner. Would YOU?
