Marni’s Limited Edition Charity Baskets For Christmas
‘Tis the season of giving! Marni launches “Marni Charity Baskets”, a charity initiative in support of the Vimala Association’s children’s charity which provides aid for abandoned and handicapped children in India, Brazil, Africa, Guinea Bissasu, and various other countries. Proceeds from the sale of the Limited Edition Charity Baskets would go to Vimala, in hopes of compleing the restoration of a school in India for over 50 handicapped children.
Marni is known for its charitable festive collaborations. Several memorable past initiatives include an 125-chair exhibition made in Colombia by ex-prisoners in 2012, and in 2014 Milan Design Week exhibit handmade also by a group of female Colombian workers in aid of terminally ill children.
Available in 2 sizes in orange and green, these totes are completely handwoven by artisans in Colombia. Priced at €90 (small) and €120 (large), the bags will be available at select Marni boutiques globally, and also on Marni’s Official Website from December 4 to 11.
Don’t the multicoloured weave design, some of which feature motifs which remind me of our folk heritage Malaysian handwoven baskets, mats, and placemats commonly found in places like Central Market?
