Gucci Introduces the Diana Bag
Gucci has introduced the Gucci Diana bag, a reinterpretation of an archival bamboo handle tote that made its debut in 1991. And if you’re wondering why it’s called the Diana, that’s because the late Princess Diana was frequently spotted carrying this bamboo handle tote in the 90s.
The reimagined version of the bamboo handle tote by Creative Director Alessandro Michele features the same structured tote, with one key difference: the removable neon leather belts on the bag’s bamboo handles, inspired by the functional bands that came with the original bag (to ensure that the shape of the handles are maintained) that add a nice pop of colour to this classic shape and style. And, while bags these days have detachable decorative straps that can be purchased separately, the Diana has additional leather belts instead, in 3 special colours, should you decide that you want different colours, in addition to the 3 matching coloured belts in either fluorescent yellow, pink, or orange belt that each bag comes with. All of these belts are equipped with functional buckle with the front featuring a gold Gucci script logo and if you want to take customisation a step further, you can also have the option of embossing the insides of the leather belts with letters and star symbols in a variety of metallic film colours.
Available in 3 sizes (mini, small, or medium), the bag comes in 7 different colourways, consisting of both neutrals such as black, white, a timeless cuir (tan), and more vibrant hues including light rose, striking red, and powder light blue. The mini is a super cute bag for your essentials, the small makes a perfect day-t0-night bag, and the medium is your perfect everyday work tote. All 3 sizes come with detachable shoulder straps. But, if you’re into something that’s ultra luxurious, it’s also available in exotic leathers such as crocodile, python, and ostrich leathers.
As for us, the pink in the mini size (as featured on Elle Fanning above), is our favourite because who doesn’t love pink on pink? 😉
