Givenchy’s Latest Horizon Bag

Let’s talk about Givenchy’s latest Horizon bag. First spotted on the Fall/Winter 2016 runway, this structured tote isn’t what I initially expected from the Givenchy Creative Director, Riccardo Tisci because, with the thick leather “band” around the bag, it looked as if it catered to a more Lady Chic-typed customer, instead of the brand’s usual clientele. Apparently, however, the more sophisticated and “mature” customer, was the target market was what Tisci had in mind when he designed this bag, because according to the designer, he could never find a bag appropriate for his 60-year-old sister whenever he wanted to buy her one.

Ticsi comments,

“I wanted to launch a more classic bag, more for a mature woman: with less metal, more elegance, more chic, more luxurious-looking”

Slated to drop in stores on June 1st (it is already sold out on Bergdorf Goodman’s online store thanks to the Pre-Order service!), the Horizon comes in 3 sizes: small, medium, and large, and is available in a variety of skins and colours, including calf leather, suede, and alligator.

Certainly an office-friendly bag too, which means you don’t have to be 60 to pull this off, but personally, this bag is too much of a Lady Boss for my style. What about you?
