Fendi’s Peekaboo Project Charity Initiative
In conjunction with the New Bond Street boutique in London, Fendi has launched a charity intiative called the Peekaboo project. To raise funds for Kids Company, Fendi has collaborated with inspiring women such as Cara Delevigne, Jerry Hall, Georgia-May Jagger, Gwyneth Paltrow, Naomie Harris, Adele, architect Zaha Hadid, journalist Kate Adie and fashion illustrator Tanya Ling, who have added their own personal touch to a Peekaboo bag. The artistic visions of these women have been brought to life thanks to Silvia Venturini Fendi and the Fendi Atelier, thus falling in line with Fendi’s “Nothing is Impossible” motto.
All Peekaboo bags come with the collaborator’s name (i.e. _______ for Fendi) on the metal plaque on the interior of the bag

Tanya chose to do a hand-painted illustration on a large size Peekaboo. The back view (above) features a silk-screened image of one of her signature pieces depicting a figure of a woman. The handle is made of brown leather, and covered in brown mink with the hardware lacquered in the same hue.

Georgia-May opted for a large canvas Peekaboo featuring a silk-screened image of a photograph that she captured. The bag is given a glossy allure thanks to the transparent sequins that cover the entire surface of the bag. The metallic purple python interior was inspired by Prince’s Purple Rain album cover. This bag fuses both of her passions: photography and music.
Zaha Hadid
London-based architect Zaha Hadid has created a unique outer layer of layered two-sided black leather panels to give of the impression of unfolding pages of a book. The inside layer (the actual bag itself) of the regular-sized Peekaboo is in petrol-coloured leather with black pony hair side panels with tone-on-tone hardware. The handles reproduce layered motif in black pony hair. What more could we expect of an award-winning architect? MAJOR LOVE and this gets my vote for most creative!
Naomie Harris
Naomie’s large Peekaboo in off-white leather features a silk-screened image of the map of Africa in white and black vertical stripes to signify equal human rights. 3D butterflies in leather or beads are also embroidered onto the bag to give off the impression of butterflies in flight, reflecting the theme of freedom. The theme of her creation, “Truth Love Freedom” is embroidered in beads on the bag’s interior.
Adele
The cutest Peekaboo of all, Adele has designed a girly Peekaboo bag, complete with eyelashes that sort of remind me of the Peekaboo from the Fendi Bugs collection. The large size Selleria three-coloured Cuoio Romano leather in bourdeaux pink and red is decorated with multi-coloured resin studs (perhaps inspired by one of the bags from the B Fab collection from 2 years ago) and white varnish teeth when the bag is unzipped. The bag’s top bar is in multi-coloured plexiglass with dark grey metal hardware.
Gwyneth Paltrow
This large size Peekaboo in shiny white croco with black leather is synonymous with Paltrow’s clean and sophisticated style.
Katie Adie
Reporter Kate Adie used the British army’s camouflage pattern in multicoloured bead embroidery as the theme of her regular-sized Peekaboo in dusty pink leather.
Jerry Hall (model)
Shiny red croco with green jade details on the turnlock closure and the handle inspired by Culture was what this model had chosen for her large Peekaboo.
Cara Delevingne
This Brit It Model had chosen to customise her large White leather peekaboo with a silk-screened image of her hand-painted typography that she created. The idea behind the bag? Superwoman (note the Superman-esque “S” on the front – which really is the epitome of herself with numerous brand collaborations and campaigns under her belt. And to top it all off, the word “Super” in blue is on the bottom while “Woman” in green is seen on the inside back. And on the inside front the word “Human”with her initials CD in violet and blue.
These one-of-a-kind Peekaboo bags of collector’s item calibre will be displayed in the New Bond Street flagship beginning today, and is now up for auction online. Founder of Kids Company, Camilla Batmanghelidjh comments that “for most children, their mother’s bag is a treasure trove full of good and fun things. For traumatised children who are being harmed, their mother’s bag can be a source of horror and despair. Our friends at FENDI and our compassionate supporters have come together to create bags – the sale of which will generate money and help restore dignity to a humiliated child. It means a great deal to the staff and children of Kids Company to know that complete strangers care and want to help. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
100% of all proceeds will go to the London- and Bristol- based charity Kids Company.
The opening price for each bag starts at £15,000. The auction will be up for the entire month of May and will officially end on Friday May 30th at 6pm GMT (2am Malaysian time).
