Chloé‘s latest Aby Bag is a combination of a something new, and something old. This new top handle style comes in grained leather, with a vertical belted detail that goes all the way around the bag. Held together by a padlock at the centre of the top flap, there’s actually a magnetic snap closure under the flap, so you wouldn’t have to worry about undoing the padlock to access your belongings. The padlock and belted feature is mainly for decorative purposes.

This is definitely something that Chloé fans, especially those from the Phoebe Philo era, would appreciate. Though not as chunky as the padlock on the cult Paddington bag from the 2000s, it’s certainly a nice dose of nostalgia, don’t you think? I mean, despite it looking vastly different from the Paddington, which, in retrospect would look rather dated today, I definitely appreciate the reinterpreted the smaller padlock feature because the new Aby certainly does bring back fond memories. After all, I know that there are many of us out there whose foray into designer bags began with the Paddington, myself included.

Made of grained deerskin, the Aby is available in 2 sizes (medium and large), in neutral colours such as beige, tan, white, or black.
