Valentino’s New Tonal V-Ring Shoulder Bags

It’s no secret that I’ve been loving Valentino‘s new vintage logo, dubbed as the V-Ring. I first loved them on the summer-perfect slides, and I was crushing on them so hard that I got myself a pair. Then came the small V-Ring Bag which I also fell hard for, especially the colour-blocked version, which was also spotted on Meghan Markle. And now, new for the season, is an iteration of the V-Ring bag in a structured shoulder bag style which is not just a new silhouette that joins the family, but it also comes in tone-on-tone logo (achieved by covering the logo in leather) – a first for Valentino.

Yep, tonal logos seem to be the latest in bag trends right now (yep, Saint Laurent, I’m looking at you too!) but Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli keeps it slightly different and fresh, with some gold accents. Oh, and the gold chain that you see there, dangling from bag? Nope, it isn’t a wrist strap, so this bag isn’t meant to be worn as a wristlet, and it isn’t meant to just be an accessory either (though it certainly looks pretty resting atop the bag). What it is, is something that I’ve not really seen incorporated into bag designs thus far: it’s actually used to add extra length to the leather shoulder strap, for crossbody wear! Simply unclasp it, and voila you’ve lengthened your shoulder strap. Brilliant design element, no?

Available in 2 sizes (regular and small) and either smooth or grained leather, the V-Ring Shoulder Bag comes in neutrals like black and Rose Cannelle (nude), as well as classic Valentino Red, a gorgeous deep green (my fav!), and a candy-hued pink, aptly known as Macaron.
