One of the other few Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 shows that were livestreamed this season, Chloé also celebrates its 60th Anniversary commemorated by a retrospective entitled “Chloé Attitudes” at the Palais de Tokyo which kicked off on September 28th.

Because it was the Maison’s 60th anniversary the fashion press somewhat expected a “best of” or “tribute to” season, coupled with the fact that it is only Clare Waight Keller’s third season as Creative Director. But that certainly wasn’t the case when her designs came down the runway, except for that baby pink pleated ruffled dresses inspired by Karl Lagerfeld’s dress that is being exhibited at the 60th Anniversary retrospective designed from back in the 80s when he served as Creative Director at Chloé.

In short, even though here were looks that had metallic silver sequin racing stripe details on the pants and the jackets which were slightly futuristic, Waight Keller’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection was  for Chloé was still light, fluttery and feminine. She is one of those designers that is able to negotiate between the very polar opposite “sporty” and “womanly” domains ever so seamlessly that even the sportswear looks end up looking luxe, tailored and elegant.

And now, here’s my favourite part: the bags!!

 

The “Alice” bag (first pic above) from this season’s Fall/Winter transitions right into Spring/Summer 2013. The only difference is probably that the bag is a little less structured, and the addition of the racing stripe on the bag. The It bag come Spring/Summer 2013? The flap bag that comes in 3 sizes: Small, medium, and large, with either a chain strap, a leather strap, or a leather strap with link details. It’s available in colourblocked leather, leather and canvas combo (see large striped bag pic) glossy calf, and exotic skin-leather combos like Karung, or the Impala (the deer/gazelle looking animal with the white stripe down its back) skin flaps. 


I honestly can’t pinpoint my favourite, because the “Alice” is one of my favourite bags for the current Fall/Winter 2013 season, and I love each and every one of the flap bags for SS13. In fact, this selection of bags that came down the Chloé runway is my favourite out of all the SS13 bags, hands-down!
