#MFW: Bottega Veneta FW17 Bags Report
The Verdict: For Fall/Winter 17, the one thing that to me, really stood out, is that Bottega Veneta Creative Director Tomas Maier had expanded the iconic Knot family, and has extended this Knot clasp detail, for the day bags as well. Now, we see the Knot in brushed gold as a turnlock closure on a flap bag with an accordion-style silhouette, a shoulder bag, as well as a rectangular day-to-night clutch. I, for one, am really happy with this decision, because I’m a MASSIVE fan of the Knot family. With the typical brushed matte Knot detail either in gunmetal or gold, it certainly gives the bag a more vintage vibe, yet doesn’t lose its identity because it’s still unmistakably Bottega. The Lauren, is also back this season, in exotic leathers such as ostrich and crocodile. Oh, and the small intrecciato shoulder bag in slouchy hobo style (such as the bright green one you sometimes see on my Instagram page) has been revamped into something slightly taller, with a belted strip along the sides. I have to say though, that I prefer the current version in comparison to this one.
