Longchamp Amazone: The SS19 Edition
For Spring/Summer 19, Longchamp‘s Amazone gets a bright and bubbly makeover in one of my favourite type of prints: Ikat. The standout piece for the season is definitely the Ikat printed version on pale pink jacquard canvas with dainty red braid trims.
Fringing, too, is a big part of the SS19 collection, with tone-on-tone fringes on velvet calfskin in the new shades of the season such as purple, sapphire, and khaki. Or, for that rock n’ roll vibe, the fringed black cowhide with a studded strap in patent and embossed leather is your go-to. But, if you want something more vibrant, or as some may say, “louder”, you’d prefer the fringed velvet lambskin hobo bag in tricolour versions such as emerald and cognac on brown, black and purple on cream, or cognac and black on rosewood. Fringing aside, for that ultimate bohemian spirit, are the variations with cabochons against both the cognac velvet calfskin, and black calfskin, with contrast-coloured stones.
But, if colours aren’t your jam, then the signature quilted version comes in red, beige and grey lambskin, or black patent leather if you you want something with a highly glossed finish. And, for something more luxurious, python embossed calfskin in shades of purple, cognac and emerald will do the trick – you’d have that luxe feel minus the exorbitant price tag, plus no snakes were harmed in the process 😉
As for me, you can probably already guess which my favourite Amazone is, from the SS19 collection: yep, the one with studs, of course! How predictable, huh? 😛
