Gucci’s Marmont Bags For Pre-Fall 2019
Gucci has introduced some seasonal variations of their GG Marmont bags for Prefall 2019 and really changed things up for their classic collection. This season, it’s all about graphic stripes in black and a shade of cream that can almost be considered yellow. Also, Creative Director Alessandro Michele has replaced the classic chevron quilting with diagonal stripe quilting, to match the graphic strips of colour. Look a little closer, and you’d also notice the GG logo is now in shiny gold hardware (as opposed to the usual aged brass), with stripey segments reminiscent of an earthworm. But, if you find stripes too bold for you, there’s also a solid-coloured version, with the same diagonal quilting, “earthworm-esque” GG logo, and red leather piping, which, is also found on all the other Marmont bags for the Prefall season.
My favourite Marmont from this season, however, would have to be the one with the classic Marmont-styled quilting, but dressed up in raffia, with snakeskin trims. Though usually a fan of colour-blocking, there’s just something about the complementary tonal colours along with the matte gold hardware that makes my heart skip a beat for this one.
