Fendi Zucca Rose Bags from S/S 2010

For S/S 2010, Fendi has come up with some rose-themed bags. There are 3 bags altogether that share this Rose theme: a Floral Shopper, and their signature Chef Bags (in Medium and Large). For the chef bags, the rose print is screen printed onto Fendi’s signature Zucca (Large FF) monogram. I was rather surprised to see these bags online because I didn’t at all see these bags or anything that resembled a rose theme on Fendi’s S/S 2010 runway at Fashion Week. Anyway, here’s a sneak peek at what Fendi has in store for us come S/S this year:

Floral Shopper – $990

Zucca Rose Chef Bag (Medium Size) – $845

Zucca Rose Chef Bag (Large) – $940

The Verdict: Not really my cuppa tea. To be honest, these are very mature looks. Although I’m not an all a Vuitton fan, I much prefer the Stephen Sprouse Graffiti Rose due to the more vibrant colours and the artsy Rose design in comparison to Fendi’s more classic and “safe” country-esque roses that are not unlike those found in Laura Ashley designs. Plus, the Rose print overlay on top of the bold signature zucca fabric is just too much, imho. If I had to choose one bag from these 3, I’d go with the Floral shopper — at least the flowers are more artsy, and the Zucchino (small FF) monogram isn’t that noticeable, so that makes it more bearable. However, the Rose design on the Floral Shopper (first pic above) still looks a little like upholstery or curtain fabric.

If you disagree with me, hop on over to Neiman Marcus to Pre-Order these S/S 2010 Fendi bags, which should arrive no later than 22nd March 2010
