The Verdict: This coming F/W season, Galliano seems to be channelling the Equestrian theme once again – a theme, that, seems to make an appearance without fail after every few seasons or so, sort of like “Now you see it, Now you don’t”. I mean, there was the Saddle bag, then came the Gaucho, and now, this collection. It seems as if when there’s a lack of inspiration, Galliano brings out the old trusty Equestrian theme again. Rehash and (re)cycle ad infinitum , or at least, that how it appears to me. The leather shoulder hobo bags perhaps is yet another reinterpretation of the horse saddle (albeit a ruched version). Keeping in line with this theme, the sturdy-looking structured rectangular bags from this collection looks and reminds me of a horsepack.
