#LFW: Burberry’s September 2017 Collection Runway & Bags Report
Just like the photography exhibit Here We Are, happening in conjunction with Burberry’s September 2017 Collection show at the new show venue at Old Sessions House in Clerkenwell, Creative Director and President Christopher Bailey presented a collection that epitomised his vision of British style. Key British elements like argyle (mostly on the socks in the collection), pastel coloured macintoshes, and Fair Isle sweaters in what can be considered, in my opinion, as a festive colourway. Tartan, too, featured prominently in the collection. And while we’re on the subject of tartan, this was the stuff that most of the bags, were made of!
Seen on both the men and the women on the runway, was a reversible oversized cotton tartan tote. Yep, you read that right – it’s reversible, and on the other side, still in the tartan motif, but of a different colour combo. Tote aside, there were also clutches, and what appears to be something similar to a cosmetics bag, all of which, are in tartan!
For those of us seeking something more luxe, there’s also the new Satchel that’s available in 2 sizes (the smaller one is known as the “Pocket Satchel”), in exotic skins such as Croc and Lizard. And since I’m not a tartan fan, this Satchel (but in lizard) would be my off-the-runway pick from the September 2017 collection. What about you?
