IKEA x OFF-WHITE Frakta Bag
After Balenciaga’s version of the blue IKEA Frakta shopper, it really doesn’t come as a surprise that King of Collabos, OFF-WHITE founder Virgil Abloh is designing his own version of this bag. The only difference? It’s a legit collab – Abloh is actually collaborating with renowned Swedish furniture giant, IKEA.
IKEA gave us a sneak peek of this collab back in June 2017, where we saw Abloh working on a prototype of his version of the Frakta bag in yellow with “SCULPTURE” in bold text right in the middle, much like his current current for his own OFF-WHITE label. Yet, despite it being just shy of a year since news about this collab was released, we still don’t know when this collection will be dropping in IKEA stores because the release date is still to be confirmed. But, what I do know is, I’m pretty sure when the bag lands in stores, OFF-WHITE fans are going to be snapping these bags up in a flash, because I’m pretty sure it’s going to come at a fraction of the price. We’re gonna be seeing these bags pretty much everywhere, after this, and I predict that these are going to be hot items that would sold for more than double the price on eBay and the reseller market, much like Anya Hindmarch’s “I’m Not A Plastic Bag” tote back in 2007.
