The Mulberry Alexa Is Back!
First introduced 10 years ago, the Mulberry Alexa, named after Alexa Chung, was the cult bag that was super hard to get your hands on. The beloved satchel became a Mulberry classic, along with the iconic Bayswater. Then, in 2016, the Alexa had been discontinued. Gone, just like that. I still remember mine in the colour “ink” – which I’ve actually already given away. Dang, first it was my Dior Saddle, which I had in several colours and variations, and now, the Alexa. Note to self: stop giving away all my bags because they will come back, just a matter of when!
Yep, now, as a tribute to the Alexa, it’s back, this time around, in a grained leather which is ethically sourced from the gold standard and environmentally accredited tanneries in carbon-neutral factories in the UK. The sturdier leather also means that the bag wouldn’t sag or crease, especially if you hold it by its top handle on the flap, which tended to happen with the original first generation Alexa bags. Leather aside, you’d find the same design details: Mulberry’s signature Postman’s lock clasp, the braided top handle, as well as the double front belted straps, and the adjustable and detachable shoulder straps.
The refreshed Alexa is available in 3 sizes: mini, regular, and oversized, in colours such as black, chalk chestnut, neon pink, green, neon yellow, and porcelain blue.
