#PFW: Hermès AW18 Bags Report

One of the Hermes Autumn/Winter 18 bags that caught my attention, was certainly that squarish three-dimensional evening bag. The main reason why I’m so smitten with this bag has a lot to do with its shape (it also makes an appearance as an all-over print on the season’s RTW too!), which is reminiscent of the hardware on the CDC cuff. And, if you ask me which variation of the bag I prefer, it definitely has to be the one with the micro studs. Well, Surprise, surprise, huh? lol.

The Bolide, which was all over last season’s runway, once again makes an appearance this season, but this time, in suede. I found the bucket bag quite cutesy too! There’s also a new seasonal boxy saddle-shaped shoulder bag with a small “H” clasp.

But, the thing that got the cogs in my head turning, were these. When I first saw them coming down the runway, I wasn’t sure if they were bags made to look like scarves, sweaters, and coats, or a new way to carry your outerwear around. After much investigation, I figured out that it was the latter. I really have to congratulate Creative Director Nadège Vanhée-Cybulski because it’s both a clever and creative, because it’s really heavy to lug your outerwear around when you’re indoors during winter, especially if they’re long coats and when you’re vertically challenged like me, you’d end up sweeping the floors with your coats while walking, heh.
