My Favourite Picks From Moschino Cheap & Chic’s Summer 2014 Collection

I’m always up for lots of quirk and whimsy, so it probably really isn’t any surprise to you that I’ve picked out these super-cute patent leather bags. Well, okay, so they’re not really bag bags, more like adorable purses which you can’t even fit an iPhone into. And while I’m all for roomy bags, I am rather smitten by the flamingo. Fine, maybe the colour may have something to do with why I like it so much. But those gangly (chain) legs? Gaaahh, totally adorbs! Definitely one my favourite from Moschino Cheap and Chic’s Summer 2014 collection!

Well, well, there’s really nothing like bags that spell out cocktail hour, now, is there? Not to mention, it’s during this specific time that you need your hands free to nurse that cocktail (or two!). Again, like the flamingo, they aren’t the roomiest of bags, but hey, every once in a while, we have to forgo practicality for a little something with personality, innit?  Plus, these whimsical pieces would surely accent that LBD or LWD you have on ;). And oh, see the huge loop zipper for both the martini and champagne bags? Yep, they double up as a wristlet too (and it just occurred to me that if you’re at a party, they’d make a nice Photo Booth prop!). But if you find those 3 bags above a little too much or “out-there” or impractical, then perhaps the drawstring bucket bag (below) with the tropical motif would be more of your thing.

Nothing really spells out summer like a tropical print in bright fuchsia. Okay, okay, I hear you. I know that you’re thinking “but in Malaysia it’s summer all year round”. While that certainly is true, there’s just something about this vibrant hibiscus print against an otherwise completely white bag that makes me think of fun in the sun. And the tassels – always had a soft spot for them in any shape or form (well, okay maybe not any shape or form because I don’t like tassels on curtain tiebacks, lol =P)! Perhaps the only thing that I kind of am afraid of, being the klutz that I am, is the pristine white on the bag. Yes, knowing me, and because I’d never part with my bag even when I eat (I always let it rest on my lap instead of putting it on the seat next to me) I’d probably get food stains on it sooner or later (well, probably sooner rather than later to be honest). So I’ve learnt (the hard way!) to have the front of my bags face me so that if I spill anything, it’ll only get on the back of the bag, so it isn’t visible when it happens! 😉 But anyway, the good thing about this Moschino bag is that it’s in coated jacquard, which means that if you’re as clumsy as I am, it wouldn’t stain even if you spill food on it, or even if you get it a lil soaked in the rain. All you have to do is wipe it clean, or dry it off, and you’re good to go! Just make sure you don’t get it on the leather bits though (i.e. the base, the strap and the drawstring/tassels).
