My Fave Picks for Fall/Winter 2012-13: Bottega Veneta
Whether clutches or bags, Bottega Veneta’s Fall/Winter 2012-13 collection, focuses on all things hand-carried. Texture also seems to be a key theme for Bottega this season, and I’m not just talking about their signature weave. Instead, the weave, although present (well, it wouldn’t be a Bottega piece without the weave now, would it?) takes a backseat for FW 12-13, allowing the Italian Passamaneria (the wavy, loopy woven bits on the bags) details to take centrestage.
And now, my favourite picks for the season, which, coincidentally, are all the clutches from the Bottega Veneta’s Runway Collection! I have to say that although I’m a MASSIVE fan of vibrant colours, I quite fancy the dark colour palette this season the way Tomas Maier does it!
Again, it’s no secret that I’m a HUGE fan of the House’s Knot clutches and the contrast of the smooth navy blue leather and the Passamaneria weave (shown above) is absolutely AMAZING. I also find myself liking the sort of metallic chain-mail effect version of the clutch below. As for the one with the swirls that look like grains on a log, that, I have to say I’m really not a fan of.

Lastly, but certainly not the least, my favourite clutch for day. While some may feel that it looks too much like a pochette, I say the woven borders make it casual enough for an afternoon outing, and yet luxe enough for a dinner date. While the Knot is certainly more dressy (think cocktail and evening), these clutches translate into the perfect day-to-night bag.
