Mr.Bags x Longchamp Collection For Chinese New Year
Today marks the global launch of the latest Longchamp x Mr Bags Collection in celebration of the upcoming Chinese festivity, to mark the Year of the Pig.
Mr. Bags (a.k.a. Tao Liang) is one of China’s most influential fashion bloggers, who has millions of followers (known as “bagfans”) on Weibo and WeChat. This is Longchamp’s second collaboration with Mr. Bags. Last year, he reinterpreted the leather version of the iconic Le Pliage tote. For 2019, he has chosen the Le Pliage Cuir top handle bag in black lambskin. and in pastel pink metis leather, and given it a cutesy illustration, with the pig (a symbol of wealth and abundance in Chinese culture) front and centre. On its front, you see a curly tail, and on the back, a pair of pointed ears and two dots for eyes, and hidden under the top flap, a fart!
Then there’s the Le Pliage leather travel bag in black lambskin, with an exterior zippered pocket for your passport and tickets. SLGs, too are part of the special collab with Mr. Bags: a pouch with a zipped front pocket reminiscent of a pig’s snout in black lambskin or pastel pink metis leather, as well as a transparent PVC tote with a pink snout-shaped coin purse inspired by former Longchamp Creative Director Sophie Delafontaine’s Le Pliage Aquarium from 1998, with fish swimming around inside the bag.
These items are available in extremely limited quantities – they already sold out during the pre-launch event in China – so be quick and snap them up while you can, especially if the pig is your spirit animal!
