Burberry heads in a new direction for the brand, and with that, comes a new show venue, Makers House.  Creative Director Christopher Bailey has shown what he has named the September Collection – a variety of Autumn-ready looks for both men and women because everything is immediately available for purchase #seenowbuynow.  Taking inspiration from Virginia Woolf’s literary masterpiece, Orlando, the collection showcased that distinct loosely-fitted ruffled collar shirt blouses, trumpet sleeves, floral brocade, and creatively-designed knits that resembled the fitted and structured bodices from that era. What was even more unmistakable though, was that Bailey brought back the pyjama trend. My favourites from the collection, were definitely the marching band jackets and capes!! Love!

Now, on to my favourite part: the bags!!

There was, of course, the main bag from the collection, the Bridle which, apart from the straps, reminded me more of a Saddle bag. We also saw the Patchwork bag,  which came in a new size, given a lucite oversized chain strap and a three-dimensional look,  achieved either with the structural folds reminiscent of the ruffs from the Elizabethan era (in turn making the front of the bag look like a bow), or three dimensional ‘gems’. And though I didn’t really like the Patchwork bag when it was first introduced earlier this year, I really like it with the new strap! Which do YOU prefer?
