While almost all the designer houses are going along with the classic Red theme for Valentine’s Day, Chanel seems to be taking the Metallic Gold and Nudes route in terms of colour scheme. Although their 2012 Valentine’s Day collection consists of other items like accessories, jewels, shoes and eyewear, I’ll only be featuring the Leather Goods and SLGs for the Valentine’s Day Edition.

First up, the leather goods.

I have to say though, that I’m not really feeling this rollover top because it really reminds me of a sandwich bag or well, the way in which we all tend to roll over the top of our takeaway lunches, don’t you think? Also, while metallic leathers might look pretty and a little sparkly when they’re spanking new, I’m not usually a fan because the metallic coating tends to “tarnish” and get patchy due to friction with one’s clothing; “tarnishing” is something that is unavoidable when it comes to metallic leathers, no matter how careful we are.

As for the next Valentine’s Day exclusive item, I’m sure you won’t be surprised to know that I actually really like this piece – exotic skins being the major contributing factor to this 😉 And although I am not at all a fan of alligator and crocodile skins, I really like this one.
