Marni and Me

Whether oversized or regular sized, I have had a love affair with studded details for some years now. What initially began as a seasonal trend, studded details have become a mainstay in fashion, especially on bags. This is all thanks to Balenciaga’s GH range and Alexander Wang’s Rocco Studded Duffle — staples in every fashionista’s bag closet. Yes, they both weigh a tonne even when empty, but the fashion pack is always willing to carry a little weight around, especially on the arm.
For Spring/Summer 2011, Marni has unveiled a range of studded leather covered bags (think Balenciaga’s CRH and CGH), and I’m in Love! I’ve never really liked Marni bags, but this literally blew me away!

I’m expecting them to be rather heavy because of the added weight of the leather covering the studs. Loving the Stud-Trimmed bag on top due to the unusual elongated supple shape, but the bag probably wouldn’t be able to “sit upright” once it’s put down due to the heavier studded details on top, but so what? It makes great arm candy.
