Louis Vuitton’s Patches Collection
Remember Louis Vuitton‘s Monogram World Tour that featured “badges” that resembled airline, hotel, and travel stickers in 2016? And then in 2017, there was the My LV World Tour collection allowed you to personalise your Monogram canvas bags with the stickers of your choice printed onto them? Well, for Fall/Winter 2018, the Maison has just introduced yet another one of these called the Patches Collection.
For this latest collection, the patches already come affixed to the items – they’re either embroidered, sewn, or printed on both the back and front – so what you see is what you get, and can’t be personalised, unlike the My LV World Tour. And, for those of you who aren’t fans of the Monogram Canvas, leather pieces, like the Aftergame sneakers, and even the sneaker boots, too, are also part of the collection. The latest assortment of patches include the quadrefoil (the flower motif on the classic monogram canvas), Volez, Voguez and Voyagez in graphic text, the iconic Vuitton padlock with key which comes on an embroidered sequinned patch, as well as a tatto-esque motifs rose with “L.Vuitton” in cursive font on it and a heart with a sword through it.
Bags from the Patches Collection include the Petite Malle (which comes with a red interior), Neverfull, Alma, Speedy Bandoulière, Pochette Metis, and SLGs like the Zippy Wallet, Zippy Coin Purse, Sarah Wallet with a fuchsia interior, and my favourite, the City Pouch which doubles as a wrislet.
What’s your take on the new Patches Collection? Personally, I much prefer the shoes from the collection (surprise, surprise!), which I will be featuring in the next edition of Toosday Shoesday next week, so stay tuned for that!
