Kate Spade’s On Purpose Collection
Kate Spade New York’s latest On Purpose Collection has landed! Why “On Purpose”? That’s because this is part of an ongoing collaboration project since 2014 between Kate Spade & Company and women artisans in Masoro, Rwanda, whose specialty is beading and embroidery-work. Kate Spade has helped these women hone their craft and taught them how to set up and build their own businesses. Together with Kate Spade & Company, they have formed a for-profit handbag manufacturing organisation, Abahizi Dushygikirane Ltd (ADC). Today, On Purpose has over 150 full-time artisans who are paid a monthly salary, which has in turn helped to support their families.
Here’s the latest seasonal On Purpose Collection! Oh, and you’d probably already have noticed, there’s also a camel-themed clutch, in line with the whole Marrakech theme Kate Spade has going on for Summer 2017.
Okay and this last bag right here, is my favourite of all because of my weakness for whipstitched details, as well as the amazing pops of colour, because when it’s juxtaposed against such a neutral colour, it just pops even more!
