Francesca Eastwood, daughter of Oscar-winning actor Clint Eastwood burns a US $100,000 Crocodile Birkin for a photo shoot. Photos of her burning, sawing and totally mutilating a crocodile Birkin was captured in photos by her boyfriend, Tyler Shields. Be prepared to cringe big time.

In the video by TMZ, someone said “She’s critiquing consumerism with this … how everyone is into labels” Erm. If she was doing so, then why did she even possess a CROCODILE Birkin in the first place? I mean, hey, it’s difficult enough saving up and trying to get one’s hands on an Hermès Birkin, but here she is with the Holy Grail of all Birkins, the crocodile version. And she set it on fire! Who’s the materialistic one here? Is this actually a social commentary? Well if it is, then she’s just pointing the finger at herself, really.

I mean, Marcel Duchamp and Andy Warhol both satirised popular culture and materialism through their artwork. Is what Francesca Eastwood doing to be construed as an example of “art for art’s sake”? I hardly think so. First delving into Reality TV and now this. You know what I think this is? An attention-seeking publicity stunt by a pseudo-celeb.
