FENDI (Re)Launches the Original Baguette For Summer 2021
FENDI relaunches its original Baguette bag, which made its debut in 1997 , as part of the Summer 2021 Capsule Collection. This new re-edition of the FENDI icon, the Baguette 1997 retains its original silhouette with slim sides, and an adjustable flappable handle. Paying homage to its vintage vibe, the revamped Baguette 1977 also comes in variations such as shiny sequins, floral embroideries, exotic lizard, and the hypnotic FF Vertigo motif by New York-based visual artist Sarah Coleman in blue, yellow, or tobacco jacquard canvas, which also appear as a base on which flowers are embroidered onto.
And, to kickstart this relaunch, the Maison has released a short film starring French actress Ana Girardot, Spanish creative Maria Bernad, Chinese model and painter Nini Li-Yun Hu, and model Fatdwa Diawara, all of whom have the bags tucked under their arms, worn just like its namesake crusty French loaf, the Baguette.
The Baguette 1997 is now available at FENDI boutiques globally, and on the official website
