Loewe first debuted its latest key bag for the Spring/Summer 2020 season – the Horseshoe bag – at Paris Fashion Week. It derives its moniker from its hobo-styled saddle/horseshoe silhouette with a drawstring closure  that’s reminiscent of classic Spanish castagnettes (or, castanets, the musical percussion instrument), and an adjustable strap, thus allowing it to be carried on the shoulder, or crossbody style.Of late, Creative Director Jonathan Anderson has morphed the drawstring detail into one of Loewe’s new House codes, reminiscent of the more recent introductions, namely, the Balloon bag, and also incorporates the  the side latched metallic pin, which we see on the Gate bag.

When carried crossbody, it kinda reminds me of the “sporran”, or, the pouch that forms part of the Scottish national costume, don’t you think? The Horseshoe bag is available in white, tan, burgundy, black, or a bi-colour version in tan and Loewe’s signature Oro suede.
