Introducing: The Must De Cartier Handbag
This year, Cartier delves into its archives and re-launches the Must de Cartier handbag that first made its debut in 1973, which turned into a cult favourite by the 1980s. In fact, it was this very bag that established burgundy as the Maison’s signature colour that has become very much a part of its brand DNA right until this day.
Hence, the 2020 reintroduction of the Must de Cartier is also available in this very same signature colour, and also retains the structured silhouette of the original game bag, except for some new additions such as a redesigned lambskin lining, and a secret pocket which holds a mirror on which “Cartier, Paris, London and New York” – paying tribute to the Maison’s three historical cities – is engraved. On its front, you’d also notice the vintage Cartier logo embossed onto a leather patch and sewn onto the front of each of the bags.
The Must de Cartier collection comprises 3 models: the game bag and hobo bag available in 3 sizes, as well as a tote. And, though burgundy is definitely the iconic colour, it also comes in beige or black, with matching SLGs including a mini wallet, business card holder, simple card holder, and flap wallet.
