Gucci’s 1970 Bag

First, the New Jackie then the New Bamboo, and this season, Meet Gucci’s 1970 bag, the hobo-styled Leading Lady from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection — she comes in all sorts of skins be it leather (nubuck and calfskin), crocodile, or python, in luscious Emerald Green, Black, White and natural Beige tones. In whatever guise she comes in, and whether maxi or medium, there’s one thing that ultimately defines her : the golden tassel which is supposed to swing and swish like fringe on 1920s flapper dresses.

Beautiful isn’t she?  So now you’re probably wondering why she’s called the 1970, aren’t you? That’s because she is an updated version of the original 1970 bag that was, well, introduced in the (you guessed it) seventies.

Here’s the 70s version

I love the updated re-issue as opposed to the original bag.  What about you?

All I have to say is, though it’s called the 1970 and may sound dated, it’s anything but….!
