Gucci’s Cruise 2013 Collection
Yesterday, you saw the Cruise 2013 Collection looks that inspired the Gucci x Hirohiko Araki Manga windows . I initially wanted to include these bags into the post yesterday, but thought that it’d be rather weird so I’m doing a separate post on this instead today.
Gucci has quite a few new collections for the Cruise 2013 season. The Gucci Twill – yep the name of the range itself fooled me because I thought that the bags were made of twill (as in the material) but nope! – which features the interlocking G logo half of it in hardware, and the other half, in leather that has been overlaid onto the hardware. A little minimalist, and a tad mature, so I haven’t featured them here. Instead, here are my favourites from the Cruise 2013 collection.
First up, Gucci’s “Nice” bags. No kidding. This is part of the Nice series. Though they might look similar to the existing bags that Gucci always had, pay attention to the new hardware buckle that looks similar to the one on the Stirrup bag.
The House’s iconic Flora collection had also been reinterpreted by Frida Giannini for Cruise 2013. A total of 5 bags make up this collection for this season, but my favourites are the New Bamboo and the Diane. The dark brown leather is a perfect choice for a light-coloured background because it offsets the print perfectly, making the flora print even more vibrant!

And although I’ve never been a fan of huge logos, I somehow really love Gucci’s new classic Soho collection. Last season, I was in love with the Soho hobo, and from Cruise 2013, I heart the new Soho Disco bag and of course the super-cute and flirtatious tassel! The bag comes in 10 different colours, and I saw them in the flesh at the Gucci store over the weekend. The dusky purple is possibly my favourite colour! Fun! Each retails for RM3,200.
