Women’s Fall/Winter 2012:

Men’s Fall/Winter 2012 is all about practicality and utilitarianism:

The Verdict: For the Men’s collection, it was classic Marc by Marc Jacobs — practical, and utilitarian and mostly function over form.

The women’s collection, however, ever since last season, has evolved into a whole new direction; from utilitarian and street-style, to a more grown-up collection. I guess like with every other brand, its part of the process, and most of the time unconscious — such is the nature of growing organically. Well this Fall/Winter season, I can’t believe I’m saying this about the Marc by Marc Jacobs line, but it’s a little too lady chic for me. Although I have a love affair with most things studded, it’s the shape of the bag that doesn’t really appeal to me. I much prefer the MbMJ  Spring/Summer 2012 collection in all its colour-blocking glory!
