#MFW: Prada FW17 Runway and Bags Report
The Prada Fall/Winter 2017 show space is where the domestic meets the public . With the use of a continuous wooden partition, the set is divided into various “rooms” that all have a homely feeling thanks to the benches, beds, mosaic, and lamps as well as posters that covered the wall along the perimeter of the space, giving off the vibes of a retro-styled home.
Now, let’s have a look at the bags, shall we?
The FW17 bags collection comprised boxyshoulder bags with a Trompe L’Oeil design that was reminiscent of the Cahier bag (the one that looks like mystical magical spell books) from Fall/Winter 17. Patchwork satchels in a combination of leathers also feature prominently in the collection, and these came with a Prada logo that we’re more used to seeing as labels on the ready-to-wear – yep, I’m talking about those blue strip labels that are now front and centre on the bags. My favourite picks, however, go to the foldover clutches with a brushed matte gold embellishment with gemstones at its centre, as well as the frame clutches with the leather fringe and the crystal studs – these are definitely my favourite bags of Milan Fashion Week thus far. Also, although I my main focus isn’t shoes on this blog, I loved almost every single pair that came down the runway, and I swear, I was going “OMG” and gawking at most of them, regardless whether they were heels or sandals.
