Event Post: Burberry’s Spring/Summer 15 Press Day
Last Wednesday (February 11th), I headed over to Burberry’s Pavilion KL store for their first ever press day in Malaysia! We feasted our eyes on Burberry Prorsum’s Pre-Spring 15 and the Men’s Spring/Summer 15 collection, while the women’s SS 2015 “Birds and the Bees” collection behind closed doors – and I mean this in the literal sense as we really were ushered into an enclosed area on the upper level of the store, partitioned by lacquered sliding doors.

The Pre-Spring 15 collection was on display on the racks at the left side of the room, the SS15 collection was on the right, while an LCD screen on the panel in the middle of the room had the season’s runway show playing on loop.

And here are some of my favourite pieces from the women’s SS15 “Birds and the Bees” collection, where the Burberry girl has transformed into a feminine creature (expect lots of tulle!) with a colour palette that, to me, resembles Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, but yet isn’t too polished because she still has that Burberry edginess contained within.
Textured Dress with tulle sleeves and “dragonfly” belt |
Beautiful pleated tulle evening dress with unfinished edges for that pretty, yet not-too-refined aesthetic |
Stunning Ombré tulle dress with…. guess what? patent leather bra cup details (shown below) |
See the peekaboo patent bra effect? |
And speaking of patent, whether in suede or denim, cropped, mid- or full-length, the details on the outerwear are also in patent leather!
Denim jacket with ostrich feathers: how’s this for a utilitarian luxe look? |
If you watched the Burberry Spring/Summer 15 livestream, or saw photos of runway photos, you may remember all the models taking their final walkthrough at the end of the show in these printed gaberdine trenches in a multiplicity of colours.

And again, the patent leather details |
THE bag of the SS15 season, “The Bee” This is the smaller version, the “Mini Bee” in hand painted grained leather with patent trims, RM 10,995 |
Printed zip-top clutches. I have to admit, though, that I was kinda bummed that they didn’t bring in the clutch with the oversized Bee print on it because I was really looking forward to playing with it in the flesh!
Book Cover print pouch RM 5,095 |
While I’m not such a shoe fan, I really love the colour combo on these sneakers (or, well, “trainers” in Brit-speak)!
Leather colour-block sneakers, RM 2,495 |
“The Field” sandal in Satin, suede and mesh that look like super-luxe Birkenstocks, RM 2,495 |
RM 2,495 |
And also in a grained leather-mesh combo, RM 2,495 |
Thanks to the Burberry team for having me at your first ever KL press day!
