Dior Cruise 19 Bags Report
Earlier this week, you’ve seen the looks, and read my Dior Cruise 19 Runway Report. Today, let’s get up close and personal with the bags from the Cruise 19 collection!
As you already know, the Cruise 19 collection was all about the escaramuzas, or, the Mexican women rodeo performers, which meant that there was a strong equestrian vibe present in the collection. With the iconic Saddle bag that made a comeback on the Fall/Winter 18 runway, Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri also introduces yet another structured saddle-shaped bag as part of this collection.
At the same time, in the spirit of what these rodeo riders typically wear, there is plenty of embroidery and florals, or rather, embroidered florals to be more specific, just like we saw on the runway looks, with some leather bags thrown into the mix. But, these weren’t just random leather bags either, because the details on them still exude that strong horseriding vibe, particularly the black leather Boston-esque bag with the dual buckle details which have references to the buckled straps on a horse’s bridle.
My favourite from this Cruise 19 collection would have to be the embroidered Saddle bag. I have to say though, it’s kind of a bittersweet thing for me, seeing that the Saddle is back, because I’m still kicking myself for giving it away and not keeping not mine from way back then! #lessonlearnt #oldisgold
