The Pouch: Daniel Lee’s First Bag For Bottega Veneta
Most of us are familiar with Tomas Maier’s designs for Bottega Veneta, but what about his successor, Daniel Lee? Lee made his debut for Bottega with the Pre-Fall 19 collection, and at just a mere 32 years of age, the designer has racked up quite a portfolio, having worked with some of the biggest names in fashion, including Balenciaga, Maison Margiela, Donna Karan, and Céline. today, we introduce you to one of new Bottega Veneta Creative Director, Daniel Lee’s creations.
Called The Pouch, this oversized clutch, part of the Spring/Summer 19 collection, features soft folds of leather that contribute to its voluminous silhouette. Available in 3 different types of craftsmanship, we have the Velvet Calf Intrecciato Pouch made of extra soft calf with the House’s signature weave; the Butter Calf featuring panels of smooth leather, and the Cocco Souple, an exotic skin version of the bag which utilises a combination of 4 skins to create the continuity of scales.
But, if you want something smaller, then perhaps you’d prefer the Pouch 20 (see top image for size comparison). Measuring just 20cm across, this baby version The Pouch can be used as an elegant mini clutch for your evening and cocktail events (especially the version in Cocco Souple), or if you’re feeling even fancier, you could use this as an organisational accessory for your handbag.
Well, whichever size you favour, it comes in a palette of neutrals such as cream, black, grey, or olive, as well as more vibrant colourways like red, green, and fuchsia. Well, I’m sure you know which my favourite one is … yep, it’s definitely this fuchsia one right above, in Coco Souple.
