#PFW: Miu Miu’s FW17 Bags Report

The Verdict: If you asked me what I like about Miu Miu’s Fall/Winter 17 bags collection, my answer would definitely be the new “miu” turnlock clasp, which, I think is a refreshing revamp of their usual turnlock clasps. Though I’m not usually a fan of logos or brand names being emblazoned on bags (but I’m starting to like them on tees, so go figure, lol),  I’m really digging the “miu miu” foldover clutches cum shoulder bags, especially the white leather and snakeskin version (top photo above). I actually haven’t been liking Miu Miu bags for a long time, and these ones actually made by list of best bags of the season (it’ll be a post I will be doing soon so watch out for it!)

As per Miu Miu tradition, bling is usually integrated into the designs of the dressier bags. In the past, they usually take the form of oversized jewel straps, or jewel embellishments, but this time around, Miuccia seems to have toned that down quite significantly, with the bling being used only as supple tassels, and as decorative belt buckle details on the belted bags, which reminded me a little of Prada’s Plex ribbon bag that’s currently in stores. Fur, too, appears to be a new element that Miuccia seems to be experimenting with on the bags this season.
