#PFW: Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 15 Bags Report
Held at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, the Fall/Winter 15 show space was one with glass and padded domed ceilings. The seating arrangement at the show was that of a pyramid structure, with each horizontal row getting shorter creating the illusion of a narrowing top towards the apex. Creative Director Ghesquiere seemed to favour Metallics, sequins, lamé, and furs for FW15, and oh, there was even a logo tee – something of a rarity, because I don’t think I’ve ever seen one by Vuitton.
For the bags, trunks abound! The mini sort, of course. Freja opened the show with a metal box bag that resembled a vanity case, and then a slew of trunk-like cases came down the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 15 runway. I have a feeling that Ghesquiere really is delving into the Vuitton archives and reminding us of the Maison’s history, and bringing it to the fashion forefront once again – first with the Petite Malle, and now these mini metal trunks. Despite looking hefty, these mini trunks are actually made of aluminium, copper, and ultra-light carbon. In fact, they’re actually very gadget-friendly, with storage spaces for iPads, chargers, and other tech stuff. And of course, there was my favourite, the Petite Malle, this time in tweed, leopard print, and a variant of the House monogram featuring the fleur in an artsy-fartsy, yet almost tribal-esque motif. Oh and guess what, I found a new love — the clutches with the square and rectangular studded embellishments! But then again, I guess you aren’t really surprised, given my penchant for studs, right? ;D
