#LFW: Burberry Prorsum’s Spring/Summer 2014 BAGS & Runway Review!

Burberry’s show started on the dot at 2:30pm UK time. This time, it was especially groundbreaking as the entire show, including the pre-show arrivals, runway and even backstage shots, were shot with Apple’s new iPhone5S and powered directly to large-scale digital outdoor screens. The live runway shots were fed to eleven sequential digital screens along London’s Cromwell Road (the busiest road in Europe) as well as New York City’s Times Square and Hong Kong’s Worldwide House!!

With the first look itself that came down the runway, it was obvious that the show was going to be promising, and it certainly didn’t disappoint! Dubbed as the “English Rose” collection, Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2014 was certainly a sweet, sugary delectable feast for the eyes! With an all-pastel palette, sheer floral lace and bejewelled flower details, it was a collection that oozed femininity.

Of course, the closing look by Cara Delevigne was stellar with that bejewelled transparent raincoat (shown above) was simply spectacular. The show ended with rose petals being rained down on the audience and the models as they made their final walkthrough.

And thanks to Burberry’s “Runway 2 Reality” service, you can Pre-Order the runway looks (and yes, that includes the bags and their beauty line!) right now until September 30th 2013 and get your items 3 months before they officially launch globally in all Burberry boutiques! All Pre-Ordered items can be personalised, with “Burberry Prorsum Made For (insert your name here) on the logo plaque on the interior of the bag (or other runway items)!

The bag of the season, the “Petal” was the only bag (in numerous variations shown below) that accompanied each and every look, and yes, that included the men’s looks as well. With the models strutting so quickly, it at first, looked like a clutch that was held squished ala a rolled up newspaper. Upon closer inspection, it was even prettier than I’d thought it looked coming down the runway.

Priced from RM 4,295 to RM 6,995, the Petal comes in various pastel hues and embellishments and combinations such as embossed degradé leather, canvas and leather, deerskin and house check rubber, feathered, and even perspex flowers and of course, luxe croc (RM 45,995).

My favourites pieces are the embossed degradé leather and the rubber ruffle (the textured version that resembles scales). Which are yours?
