Vuitton’s New Speedy

The Speedy is one of Louis Vuitton’s  icons. We’ve seen it being modified in various ways: Denim, Epi, Epi Electric, Mon Monogram, Stephen Sprouse, Murakami, and most recently, the Speedy Bandoulière (i.e. Speedy with detachable strap for wearing it cross-body style). Come September, Vuitton will release a new addition of the Speedy Bandoulière 25 to its existing Monogram Empreinte range. The iconic Speedy shape is still the same, but it has been updated, in terms of hardware, particularly the zippers, clasp on the detachable strap, and the protective feet at the bottom.

Though I’m not at all a fan of anything monogrammed, nor do I favour bags with handles that have a detachable strap because I just think it looks rather odd, but the embossed monogram on the leather is quite bearable, to be honest. In fact, the dark Orange that borders on red (shown above) and in that size is rather cutesy for day use. Dubbed by Vuitton as the latest must-have for Fall/Winter 2012-13, it will be available in 5 shades, including Orient  (dark Orange shown above) and Infini (intense blue).

It’s supposed to debut on September 1st, but I haven’t got a confirmation yet regarding the release date in KL.
